It all started with a girl who loved planes

from airplanes to numbers

Cristina Ballesteros, president and founder of PROMAFIN, is a renaissance woman. As a child growing up in Madrid, Spain she dreamed of far away lands and discovered a fascination with airplanes. It was no surprise to her family when she worked as a flight attendant in Europe in her early twenties and eventually become an airplane pilot. Her adventures led her to New York City in 1994 and she began a new professional chapter in the US where she has remained ever since.

Once she settled on land, her other love blossomed - finance. Cristina focused her skills in the business and financial arenas of the entertainment industry; working for start ups and internationally recognized companies. For over six years she worked as a Finance/Business Manager for one of Spain’s largest media conglomerates, Grupo Prisa. Another experience was setting up a fledging Hispanic Radio Station in Denver and Phoenix for over two years. Cristina continued to climb the corporate ladder in the entertainment industry always seeking the next big adventure.

Her most recent corporate position was VP of Finance for FremantleMedia Latin America, the international television show creators that produce American Idol, X Factor, La Banda, Biggest Loser and countless other worldwide TV hits. Her previous two positions were Chief Financial Officer at V-Me (the Spanish PBS cable station catering to Hispanics) and Business Manager for the News division at Univision Networks.

After working for others for so many years, Cristina decided to launch her own small business accounting boutique becoming a financial consultant for TV production companies and small businesses seeking her expertise. With clients in Miami and Los Angeles, Cristina has grown PROMAFIN into a successful enterprise.

Cristina has a Masters in Accounting from FIU and a BS in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, FL. Her biggest accomplishment is not having become a pilot, or an accomplished successful TV executive, but rather raising an amazing child, her 12-year-old son Alexander. She currently resides in beautiful South Pasadena but has lived and worked in Madrid, New York City, Phoenix,Denver and Miami.
